However, if you have a vivid imagination and enjoy getting lost in fantastical worlds, you’ll love this one.
“W Two Worlds Apart” was aired in 2016 and gained a lot of popularity since then. I personally watched it in 2021, and I still find people talking about it. Its 8/10 rating on IMDB and 9.5/10 rating on Viki (from over 300,000 people) demonstrates the significant love it has received.

The story starts with her being pulled into the cartoon in a situation where the main character from the comic has been stabbed and is desperate for medical help.
As a doctor, she ends up saving his life. However, this action has consequences, drawing her deeper into the cartoon world, episode by episode.

Lee Jong Suk stars as our male lead. He plays the main character (Kang Chul) in the comic world, where he is immensely wealthy and influential.
Kang Chul’s life isn’t easy and he has a lot of enemies. He is also constantly living under the threat of being murdered.
When the two worlds become interconnected, not only Kang Chul’s life is in danger, but that of Oh Yeong Jo and her family as well. Over the course of the show, our two main leads navigate through these dangers In pursuit of that “happy ending” where they live normal lives.

Our Review: What We Liked About “W Two Worlds Apart”?

Here’s a list of things we loved about W Two Worlds Apart and would recommend it to you for these reasons:
- Fantasy: if you’re imaginative and quickly get lost in a fantasy world, you’ll love this show. It’s also a good retreat if you want to take a break from the realities of your own life.
- Suspense: This is a fast-paced show and the story quickly unfolds. There’s always that element of suspense until the last episode, and we loved it!
- Romance: the romance in this show wasn’t lovey-dovey, but rather portrayed a deep meaningful relationship where the two characters helped and consoled each other. Watching them support each other through moments of turmoil was just wholesome 🥰.
- Father-daughter relationship: this show portrayed something unique; the relationship between a single father and his daughter. The storyline and acting to depict this relationship was just too good!
Reasons Why You May Not Like “W Two Worlds Apart”

One thing we didn’t like about the show was its cliche “Rich guy falls for poor girl” concept. The female lead transitions from an ordinary to a luxurious life after falling in love with our male lead. We agree; this feels cliche!
Secondly, since the show is quite fast-paced, it lacks deep meaningful, and relatable dialogues that you’d want to pause, rewind and hear again and again.
Lastly, if fiction and fantasy are not your cup of tea, then this show is not meant for you.
Concluding Note
So what’s the conclusion? Should you watch it or not? We say make some ramen and go for it. The show will keep you hooked!

There’s never a moment in the show that will make you feel bored. Every episode ends with suspense, pushing you to watch the next. The ups and downs, the thrill, we loved every bit of it.
