⚠️ Before we begin our review, we’d like to state that viewer discretion is advised for this show. The show portrays the sad realities of losing a loved one and its effect on an individual, with a focus on the positive side of how one can heal from it.
A lot of viewers have claimed that the show has helped in their process of healing from grief and trauma, but nevertheless, a few others may find it triggering.
Does A Piece of Your Mind have a happy or sad ending?
A Piece of Your Mind has a happy ending. The show does get sad at times, but it beautifully unfolds to end on a happy note for all the main characters. Moreover, it gives you all the closure you need, without leaving you to be wanting more from the show.
What is A Piece of Your Mind About?
A Piece of Your Mind is a show about two individuals “Moon Ha Won” and “Han Seo Weo” who come together, listen, console, and help each other overcome their past trauma.
The literal translation of its Korean title “ban-ui ban” (반의 반) is “half of a half”. We believe the drama is rightfully named, as it does a wonderful job of depicting the concept of how two half individuals help each other become one whole.

Han Seo Weo (starred by Chae Soo Bin 😍) is an orphan who has been struggling with loneliness and grief ever since her parents passed away. She is an optimistic individual who pours in all of her emotions and strives to give 100% in everything she does (a perfect representation of the INFJ personality for all the psych nerds here 😅).

Moon Ha Won (starred by Jung Hae-In 🫰), on the other hand, is struggling to move on from a failed one-sided relationship. Added to this, he is an orphan as well and is also going through the troubles of contemplating his mother’s death.
Over a series of episodes, the two cross paths and navigate through their relationship. The scenes feature very light-hearted and warm interactions between the two; so warm that we found a review online stating “It’s a warm hug in the form of a drama”.
The drama is, however, purely a romance drama and quite slow-paced as well. I personally loved the pace, but it could seem boring to a few people.
Apart from the storyline, we really loved the soundtrack and background music. Not just the quality of the music but also the timing of it. The music played just at the right scenes for the right mood. Kudos to the team for perfectly executing this beautiful artwork 🫶.

Why A Piece of Your Mind Might Not be the Show for You?

A Piece of Your Mind does not resonate well with a lot of people. We have tried to compile a list of reasons as to why, and if you feel you’d be the same, then it’s safe to to skip this show.
- Slow shows aren’t your vibe: this isn’t your average Kdrama; the episodes in the show aren’t very happening and there’s virtually no suspense. The relationships between characters progress slowly, and many aspects of the plot may not immediately make sense.
- Too much emotions and melodrama: a dialogue-heavy show may just not align with your preferences.
- You’re a realist: you know and believe that life isn’t all fairy tales. Hence, A Piece of Your Mind, with its more idealistic portrayal, may not resonate with your pragmatic outlook.
- Sadness and crying isn’t what you like watching: shows with an abundance of negative emotions may feel burdensome or unappealing to you, whether due to personal preferences or other reasons.
Concluding Note

In summary, A Piece of Your Mind is therapeutic. It inspires positivity when you need it the most; offering hope that with rainy days, there are better days to come.
Above all, the relationship between Moon Ha Won and Han Seo Weo has been perfectly written and executed: the light-hearted conversations, genuine exchanges, the depth of emotions, and the mutual empathy and respect they shared were nothing short of remarkable 🙌.
To be completely honest, our first impressions of this Kdrama weren’t particularly positive. However, as we delved deeper and gained a better understanding of the plot, our perception completely shifted. Hence, we’d recommend going through the first 3 episodes with patience, and it’s after this initial phase where the show starts to get interesting.
Last but not least, in our review, we will bring up what the general public has to say about A Piece of Your Mind; the side characters’ story wasn’t at all interesting. We agree! The side characters and their stories seemed to be forced into the plot, and we’d recommend skipping some of those sections if you’d like.
